more on our approach
We firmly believe private and small group instruction offers a more enriching experience for our students. We provide focused instruction with lots of attention giving our students a higher level of training, more predictable outcome and a greater opportunity for success.
Our programs include “classroom style” learning where we teach our students why we do what we do, the history of our practice, concepts of prevention & response, and other “lecture-style” sessions. For those promoting through our traditional martial arts curriculum, the classroom teachings are part of the promotion process. We don’t skim over concepts; we want you to understand and practice them and make them an integral part of your experience
In our small group and private lessons no one will be lacking the attention they need to succeed.
Our classroom-style sessions teach our students about important principles, not just physical techniques.
Are you part of the LGBTQ+ community and want to feel safe when you exercise your freedoms? Build confidence in our traditional martial arts curriculum, learn how to protect yourself and feel confident in dealing with those who want to suppress you.
Going off to college and want to learn some basic self-defense without needing to sign up for a one-year contract? We will show you very practical & effective techniques to help you stay safe. You can wear comfortable clothing, and we’ll even come to your home. Pay hourly, weekly or monthly.
Are you nervous about traveling abroad to a foreign country and want to feel safe? We will show you ways to feel safe, beyond just self-defense techniques! We don’t require long term contracts. Schedule by the hour, day, week or month, we’re here to make sure you feel safe, always.
Don’t like working out in large group, or prefer focused attention, or maybe you have some specific needs?
Whatever your needs, you can achieve a high level of performance with lots of attention in our private and small group lessons.
what is the schedule?
Our schedules are flexible, and we’ll come to you. If you do not have an adequate area to train at your home, we offer several location options. You will have an opportunity to take advantage of our private and small group approach in a location convenient for you.
You don’t have to worry about fixed schedules for your training. While we need to work around the schedule of all our students, we don’t have a fixed schedule (unless you want one). We try our best to fit in everyone on a day and time that is best for you. If your schedule changes from week-to-week, that’s fine.
