Community Programs

Cost effective community programs

We are partners with the City of Gaithersburg offering our full martial arts curriculum (offering a full black belt journey) as well as introductory programs in martial arts and practical self-defense. We deliver our training and practice series through the city’s seasonal youth and adult fitness programs at the Casey Community Center, the Benjamin Gaither Senior Center and the Gaithersburg Youth Center. Whether you are looking for an introduction to self-defense, an introduction to martial arts, or comprehensive martial arts and practical self-defense experience, you’ll find something for the entire family through our partnership with the city, and at heavily discounted rates.

Traditional Martial Arts

Start your black belt journey!

Our martial arts curriculum practices mixed styles to form a comprehensive experience with a balance of traditional martial arts and practical self-defense. Students will learn stances, strikes, joint locks, releases and forms (Poomsae & Kata). Students will see elements from Master Mark’s training in Jukaido Kan Karate, Judo, Krav Maga, Tang Soo Do and Uchudo to provide a broad martial arts experience, integrating components of our practical self-defense program with our traditional martial arts program.

Students will develop essential life skills while gaining an understanding of martial arts history and philosophy. This program offers access to guest speakers and experienced martial arts masters who present diverse perspectives and teachings from a variety of martial arts styles.

Practical Self-Defense Program

Learn our unique personal safety framework: “PACE Yourself & Don’t be DARED!”

The most important aspect of self-defense is understanding situational awareness, principles, concepts and strategies to avoid getting into a physical altercation and learning how to de-escalate and escape. This starts with our personal safety framework (PACE yourself & don’t be DARED!) combined with our comprehensive hands-on practical self-defense training.

Whether you are preparing for college, getting ready to travel, want to improve your self-defense awareness or make a long term commitment to your personal safety, we have programs than can help.

Our self-defense programs include lots of practical and effective hands-on techniques and conditioning in an informal setting. We incorporate elements of Hapkido, Krav Maga, and Karate (including releases, punches, kicks, joint locks and takedowns).

Commit to a long term journey with our Self-Defense Shield program or try our Basic Program to understand the fundamentals of self-defense. We also feature women-only and seniors self-defense programs.

Affordable programs for our school, youth center & student union partners.

These programs are designed to be affordable so that your children can build self-confidence, physical agility, strength, and experience the awesomeness of martial arts! We offer students in elementary, middle, and high school an introduction to martial arts, with the option to continue their martial arts journey beyond this program. These programs typically run for four weeks with 45- to 60-minute classes. We focus on delivering hybrid self-defense and traditional martial arts training sessions in a safe, fun and engaging environment. We bring all necessary equipment to the facility.

Train At Work Program

Train with your colleagues and build comradery at your place of work.

Don’t want to sit in traffic after work and wind up training late at night? Do you lose motivation to train after getting home? This program is a great way to manage your time and have fun with your colleagues!

We offer instruction at your place of work and will bring all necessary equipment to your workplace.

We will work with your employer or property management company to ensure that we are all in a safe environment to train.

We only support the group format for this program with a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 10 students.

How It Works

Private Instruction

Fine tune and perfect your skill in our private one-on-one sessions.

Private instruction is available in all of our programs and is tailored to provide each student a maximum level of comfort, including identifying whatever location makes them feel the safest and most focused. Private instruction is a great place for our neurodivergent students to start.

This format is also great for those who desire a high level of achievement more quickly, with attention to detail and increased skill performance.

Private lessons are also ideal for students that may struggle providing their full attention in a group session, or who may not feel comfortable in a group session.

Small Group Instruction

Don’t get lost in the crowd with our small group instruction and still get the attention you deserve.

Small group instruction is ideally provided in groups of between 2 to 8 students, but no more than 10 students. This format offers a lower tuition cost than private lessons and is a great way to build comradery and confidence around others.

We have group instruction for students from the ages of 6 to 12 (Junior Warriors), 13+ (Warriors), and 16+ (Adults).

Each student will get the same level of instruction, with the same attention to detail. While not required, we also encourage students in our private format to transition to the group format when they are ready, so they can expand building their confidence around others.
