The Place Where Our Students & The Community Meet!

July, 2026 – Issue #6

Hi Everyone! Welcome to our latest issue of The Traveling Dojo News!

We have committed to donating a percentage of our income each year to a charitable organization that aligns with our core values. Each issue of our newsletter will start with this call to action to help us in supporting our selected organization(s). This year we are supporting The Alliance Against Seclusion & Restraint (AASR). Please consider joining us in supporting AASR!

Belt Testing Success!

What an exciting day for our students, their families and their friends!

Congratulations to everyone that tested and received their new belt. We also presented 3 Pillars of Practice awards to three students that have consistently demonstrated Respect, Commitment and Perseverance.

Great job everyone!

Summer BBQ

Burgers, dogs, lawn games, giant Jenga, awesome weather, Traveling Dojo students, their family and friends – what more could you ask for to have a great time! Thank you to everyone who took the time to come out and socialize with us! It was great to see our students interacting outside the dojo and seeing the parents getting to interact with each other socially. It was an all around great day!

Seniors In Action!

Our inaugural session of Self-Defense for Seniors at the Benjamin Gaither Senior Center was a great success! This active group had fun learning the principles of self-defense and easy-to-use techniques to help keep themselves safe!

We are working out the details for a summer session and are looking forward to continuing to educate our senior community on effective ways to stay safe!

PACE yourself, and don’t be DARED!

Update On Our Search For Space

Unfortunately the property owner of the property that we had our eye on is re-evaluating what to do with their space. To good news is that they are still considering us as a tenant, but it could be a few more weeks before they finish their assessment.

Our landlord has indicated they will be moving out early next year, opening up the opportunity for us to stay in the space on Locust Drive and open up more training days and times. We will keep our fingers crossed and keep everyone posted!
